For the last two-and-a half years Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone has refused to cut his hair until he scored.
So when the former Tottenham man finally broke his duck and scored in the Tigers 6-0 win over Fulham last weekend, it was time to cut those precious locks.
An immediate snip was made in his goal celebration and on Thursday he sat down for the full cut.
Huddlestone’s feat becomes increasingly more impressive when considering it wasn’t just a vanity stunt.
Instead, the England international’s barber abstinence doubled as a fundraiser for Cancer Research UK, which pioneers life-saving research with the goal of curing all forms of cancer.
Before last weekend the last goal Huddlestone scored was on April 20, 2011 when Tottenham drew 3-3 with rivals Arsenal. Since then the midfielder raised over $59,000 (£36K) for the charity. Very impressive stuff.
