Certain things just never seem like a good fit.
You want them to be. And they might not ring the “fiasco” bell right away, but you just cannot shake those doubts about certain ill-fated combos.
Certain jeans on certain people? Painful. For everyone. Ben Affleck in red leather as the blind superhero Daredevil? Not Hollywood’s best moment. A bad fit.
Keith Olbermann and, well, just about any TV network. Mark those under “bad fit.”
So it was with Peter Nowak and Twitter. The Philadelphia Union’s decidedly old school coach, a no-nonsense man of tough Polish upbringing, going all modern social media on us? It just never felt right.
We did have some fun, though, didn’t we? Nowak was good about trading the Twitter back-and-forth with fans and media, as everyone mostly kept elbows lesser sharpened. (For a while, anyway.)
Concerning as the fit seemed, things seemed to be working. (For a while, anyway.)
I doubt we’ll see too many more coaches on Twitter.
(Update: He’s back! I think. I’ll verify that it’s still him … and then we’ll see how long he last this time.)
