The Houston Dynamo had better get back on the field. And fast.
The midfield was mostly intact when last Dominic Kinnear’s side last walked off an MLS field. Since then:
- Right midfielder Colin Clark was suspended for three matches for his remarks made toward a ball boy. (Clark has since been a stand-up citizen, taking responsibility while saying and doing the right things.)
- Holding midfielder Adam Moffat has been suspended for his tackle on Osvaldo Alonso.
- And now this; assist king Brad Davis, the heart and soul of Houston’s midfield, has a calf injury that may keep him from playing when the Dynamo finally get back on the field.
Houston had two weekends off; that contest against Seattle was on April 23. This yawning gap in the schedule was part of the league’s efforts to minimize the strain of an extended road trip to open 2012. Houston’s new downtown ground, BBVA Compass Stadium, opens May 12.
