All eyes are on Livestrong Sporting Park this week: Real Salt Lake takes its spiffy record east to the heartland, where Sporting Kansas City has built a spotless record.
By most eyes, these are the two best sides in MLS for now.
But Saturday’s game inside the blue hell of Livestrong Sporting Park isn’t the most enticing individual matchup. That one happens even further east, at Red Bull Arena.
The league’s top goal scorers all will be in Harrison, N.J., where 7-goal Thierry Henry and 6-goal Kenny Cooper will welcome 6-goal Chris Wondolowski (pictured).
It’s a long season, of course, but given Henry’s sizzling form, Cooper’s promising relationship with the scorer-playmaker extraordinaire and Wondolowski’s three-year run of sticking it in the critics’ eye, chances seem excellent that the 2012 Golden Boot winner will be involved in this one.
The Earthquakes certainly seem excited about it all.
