Video and NBC wrapup from first Philadelphia win of 2012

Freddy Adu was back on the field, and doing quite well. The pressure is off Peter Nowak. For now, at least.

So things are sunny tonight in Philadelphia, so to speak, where the Union finally won a game. With Adu back in the starting lineup, he and the Union made do with a first-half penalty kick to take down Columbus at PPL Park, 1-0.

Adu, playing more or less in his preferred position, as a roaming presence behind the striker, looked dangerous as he popped up in various spots. It was Adu’s shot that struck a raised arm and turned into Saturday’s telling spot shot.

Here is the wrapup from NBC Sports Network crew.

And the game highlights, including some of Adu’s good work and Gabriel Gomez’s cheeky little penalty kick. Good thing he made this one — otherwise, Nowak might have yanked him right off the field and thrown Mr. Cute-shooter right into the Delaware river.
