I’m going to begrudgingly file this one under “Dagnabbit, why didn’t I see that?”
Luckily, the Goat Parade blog was around to point out how pitiful the Home Depot Center has performed as a house of horrors for visitors this year. It’s kind of an anti-cauldron that way.
The Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA share the building of course. Only, the stats say there isn’t much home-field advantage in this particular advantage. The clubs have combined for a 2-8-1 record at home. That’s 7 of a possible 33 points. Blek!
This is a league where home teams are 44-29-12 so far. In other words, the hosts are taking a point, at least, from 66 percent of their MLS matches. (Actually, that’s a little lower than I might expect, but let’s not digress.)
Meanwhile, the Home Depot Center residents are taking points from just 27 percent.
