Things continue to be wacky around Chivas USA. (I suppose one could say, “What else should we expect from a team nicknamed “Goats?”)
Robin Fraser’s side has zero points from five matches at home. That’s historically bad. That’s green ketchup bad. Terra Nova bad.
But look at the MLS standings: Chivas USA isn’t in an awful spot, ahead of Portland and more or less alongside the Los Angeles Galaxy and FC Dallas. Why?
That’s the wacky part. Because Chivas USA has been spectacular on the road. Having taking 10 of a possible 15 points (a 3-1-1 record), the Goats share the league’s best road mark with San Jose.
Speaking of San Jose: Chivas USA very nearly took all the points out of Buck Shaw Stadium last night. Only a late goal from Alan Gordon allowed the home team to split the points in a 1-1 draw.
