Birthdays of Note: I know a few U.S. Soccer supporters were upset that DaMarcus Beasley wasn’t invited into the national team camp, believing the man currently stationed at Puebla in Mexico could have added some width to the roster. But feel bad for the guy? C’mon. You show me a man whose professional career has taken him from the United States into Holland, England, Scotland, Germany and Mexico, and I’ll show you a man who has lived. So, happy 30th, DaMarcus!
Speaking of U.S. national teamers back in the day, happy 34th to Houston Dynamo striker Brian Ching.
Ahead on the blog today*: A little news out of the U.S. national team camp in Orlando, a wide-ranging interview with Landon Donovan (pictured) out of that same U.S. national team camp in Orlando, the one-day-late MLS Panic Quotient, video of a horribly weak moment of MLS refereeing (looking at you, Hilario Grajeda) and the debut of our European Championship video of the day. In other words, plenty.
