Psst: I know a guy, and he knows a guy …
So I asked my guy to ask his guy, what if I wanted to put “10 large” on Germany to win the European Championship? I asked because I heard someone in a move say it like that, “10 large,” and thought it sounded cool.
And I’m cool like that.
So my guy looks at me and says: “What are you on dope? You want to bet $10,000?”
I swallowed my gum. And I meekly re-stashed my wrinkled up $10 bill back in my wallet. Who knew?
Anyway, here are the odds for tournament winner, top scorer and group winners for the European Championships that start today in Poland and Ukraine.
(FYI, if I did put my hard-earned $10 bill somewhere, I like Germany’s Mario Gomez (pictured) as leading scorer at 7-1. But Dutchman Klaas Jan Huntelaar, who always seems to strike more prolifically for country than for club, looks like a decent, longer-shot bet, too.)
