Juan Roman Riquelme played his last game with Boca Juniors in a Wednesday night lost to Corinthians.
“I feel empty. I haven’t got anything else to give to the club,” the 34-year-old, who won 51 caps for Argentina including a stint at the 2006 World Cup, said after the match. “I can’t play at half (steam).”
Riquelme, who had two separate stints with the Argentine power before and after a successful career in Europe, says he will make an announcement on whether he’s going to join another team in the near future. Smart money: retirement.
If the brilliant playmaker and dribbler does walk away from the game, it will be a sad moment for all of us. Luckily, we can turn to YouTube. Stop what you’re doing and witness perfection.
