More attendance awesomeness out of Portland

Go ahead and file this one under: “Are you freakin’ kidding me?”

For the record, no kidding around here. A crowd of 14,121 watched in Portland as their beloved Timbers fell to San Jose, 3-1.

Oh. Did I mention it was a reserve game?

Most MLS reserve matches are played on practice fields. Such is the demand.

So when a crowd of 14K shows up to see the second team, corners are being turned. (Aren’t we’re all thinking the same thing at this point, that too many MLS teams still can’t draw 14K for most home games when the first team is on the field. Sorry, but it’s the obvious first thought that comes tumbling from a snarky mind.)

Well done, Timbers and Timbers Army and all associated with the same.
