Well, at least a couple of U.S. internationals had good weekends in Germany. Young defender Fabian Johnson and rising midfielder Danny Williams both scored in Hoffenheim’s 3-1 win over Hannover.
That would be Steve Cherundolo’s Hannover – and the longtime U.S. right back did not have a good day. At all.
Each of Hoffenheim’s three goals came down Cherundolo’s side. Johnson beat Cherundolo badly on the first, in fact, speeding by Hanover’s longtime fixture at the position.
Johnson (pictured right) looks like the U.S. first choice now at left back. Williams started the last U.S. match, a 1-0 win over Jamaica, where the German-born American was a steady performer as a holding midfielder.
On the highlight’s Johnson’s goal is the first one for the men in blue; Williams’ strike is No. 3 for the side.
