What’s good news for Canaries fans is bad news for Sporting supporters. That’s the unique relationship that’s been forged with Kei Kamara’s loan deal to Norwich City. The better he does, the less likely he is to return to MLS’s Eastern Conference champions.
After today’s performance against Everton, you have to think Kamara’s chances of playing in Major League Soccer this season are approaching slim, closing in on none. Coming off the bench with the Canaries down one, Kamara hammered home what the television analyst described as one of the best headed goals he’s seen this season. In stoppage time, Kamara played a key part in Grant Holt’s late winner. As a result, Norwich took all three points from Everton, 2-1.
The first goal will be what people remember, with Kamara losing Everton marker Marouane Fellaini as a corner came in from the left. Near the penalty spot, Kamara perfectly hits the ball down toward Tim Howard’s line, putting too much power behind the shot to give the Everton keeper a chance.

On the winner, Norwich targets Kamara twice before finally reaping the rewards, with Grant Holt giving the Canaries the mild upset of Everton:
Even in the brief spells we get in from highlights, you can see why Kamara is such a fit for Norwich. It’s not that he’s big – there are a lot of big players in England. It’s not that he’s strong or he’s willing do battle. He’s all that plus somebody that bring a degree of speed and athleticism that you don’t see in many Premier League target men.
It’s unlikely he’ll be that successful in the Premier League, but for a team like Norwich, he can be a valuable part. As Everton found out today.
And after his goal at Carrow Road, Kamara is the first Sierra Leonean to score in the Premier League. Another huge plus on a special day for Kamara.
