Monday “Meh” list: quick recap of the slightly overrated

People, places and things we noticed over the weekend that land on the over-done or overly praised side. Not necessarily awful but, you know, just “meh.”

  • A little snow
  • Complaints over Denver as a spring U.S. international venue (It snowed in a lot of places over the weekend, ya know?)
  • Official protests (Good luck with all that, Ticos!)
  • Fan rebuke for journalists who write what players are saying
  • Any excuse for MLS playing through a FIFA weekend
  • Most crowds around MLS last weekend (Seriously, though, what did anyone expect?)
  • Sherjill MacDonald
  • Frank Klopas’ chances of hanging onto his job in Chicago without some quick improvement
  • “Gourmet hamburgers”
  • “Gourmet fast food” (whatever the heck that is)
  • Any last vestige of doubt about the Montreal Impact (Them dudes are good)
  • Dwayne De Rosario so far this year
  • Seattle Sounders
  • D.C. United’s chances this year unless they improve set-piece defending
  • MLS backup goalkeepers who played over the weekend who are not named Clinton Irwin or Chris Seitz
  • Term “Group of Death” (Geez, guys, can’t we call these things something more original?)
  • Nervous over-reaction to a slightly edgy t-shirt. (It’s a freakin’ t-shirt!)
