Everton misspell new signing’s name at kit unveiling

Arouna Kone and Kevin Mirallas were on hand at Everton’s official store to help unveil their new kit to fans, but it was a Spanish U-21 international that grabbed the attention, even if he wsan’t there.

Everton didn’t just misspell loanee Gerard Deulofeu’s last name during their official store’s kit reveal – they completely botched it.

Fans noticed kits with “Deufoleu” on the back of them, which is pretty terrible given the correct spelling.

This is another embarrassing moment in Everton’s summer, after the club’s front office changed their long-standing crest to a hideous shell of its former version.

In addition, this isn’t the first time Everton have botched kit spellings in recent months.  After reaching the semifinals of the FA Cup, the Merseysiders sold a kit commemorating their trip to Wembley – or as Everton apparently like to call it, “Wembely.”

Fortunately for Everton, it’s slightly nullified by the cheeky naming of their official store where the mistake occurred.  The store, named “Everton Two,” is situated in Merseyside’s Liverpool 1 shopping complex.  Therefore the address reads “Everton Two, Liverpool One.”

I see what you did there.
