Arsenal signs Serge Gnabry to a long-term deal

No actual length was given by the club, but Arsenal revealed they have locked down teenager Serge Gnabry to a “long-term” contract.

With the Gunners suffering from serious injury troubles, the 18-year-old winger broke out by scoring the opener in a 2-1 win over Swansea City in September.

Making his Premier League debut as a substitute last season, Gnabry is the second-youngest player to ever appear for Arsenal in a Premier League or Champions League match behind Jack Wilshere.

Arsene Wenger told Arsenal’s official website that he believes Gnabry will become a “great player” and described the German’s skill set by saying, “He has technical ability, he has power, he has pace, he has finishing quality and he can give a final ball. He’s a powerful offensive player.”

Gnabry also reflected on the new contract, saying, “Arsenal is a great football club and I’m so happy to be here and sign a new contract. For me, now it’s all about working hard and developing my game. “I’ve had some good opportunities recently in the first team, which has given me extra confidence, and this will only improve my game.”

His previous contract expired in June of 2015.
