Liverpool owner John W. Henry offers Luis Suarez use of the private jet

If Liverpool owner John W. Henry’s position with regards to Luis Suarez wasn’t already clear through his steadfast refusal to sell the troubled striker during his suspension for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic, the American billionaire has once again shown his dedication to the goalscorer in a big way – by letting him use the private jet.

That’s the kind of treatment you get when you’re one of the world’s best strikers and you’re facing a tight turnaround before a big match on the weekend.

Suarez is involved in a World Cup play-off with Uruguay against Jordan in Montevideo on Wednesday. Leading 5-0 through the first leg, Uruguay are expected to cruise with the Liverpool striker likely only being needed in a bit part role.

But the 13 hour flight from Montevideo to London means that Suarez would not be home on Merseyside until Thursday night at the earliest, assuming he travels back by scheduled flights. With the big derby match against Everton on Saturday, it’s a tight window.

Cue the billionaire owner’s private jet, which is reportedly gassed up and ready to take Suarez direct from Montevideo to Liverpool to ensure any travel issues are avoided.

It’s a great move by the owner and one that fans will love to see.

Then again, was there really any other option as to how a club should care for the man who’s scored 8 goals in a mere 6 Premier League matches?
