CONCACAF wants you to help dole out their new awards

Call it CONCACAF’s Got Talent.

The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football has chosen six categories to honor footballers from their ranks, and there are plenty of Yanks on the list (whether they’re plying their trade in the U.S. or overseas).

Michael Bradley headlines the list of those nominated for Player of the Year. The bulldog of a midfielder from the USMNT and AS Roma is joined by American teammates Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey and Jozy Altidore on a list of 10 players. Two other MLS players, Jerry Bengtson (Honduras) and Alvaro Saborio (Costa Rica), are on the list.

Tim Howard is the only American on the list for Goalkeeper of the Year, while Jurgen Klinsmann and Bruce Arena make the sheet for Coach of the Year. The States have six ladies on the Female Player of the Year list, two officials on the Referee of the Year ballot and two goals on the Goal of the Year ballot.
