Match of the Day video: Earle, Martino break down Arsenal’s woes, the new face of the title race

As Robbie Earle point out, Arsenal’s “wobble” goes beyond Saturday’s performance at Manchester City. Going back one week, the Gunners didn’t play well before going up on Everton, then they lost mid-week at Napoli. While it’s too soon to call the last week a major dip, Arsenal now have to entertain doubts that kept others from considering them true title contenders. Although they still sit on top of the Premier League, signs of stress — Jack Wilshere flipping off fans; Per Mertesacker confronting Mesut Özil — hint the Gunners may have encountered their season’s first significant obstacle.

As our Match of the Day analysts note, a newly vulnerable Arsenal changes how we see the title race. Do they have enough room to hold off Manchester City, who Kyle Martino sees as the league’s best side? Or, as Earle says, should Chelsea be considered the favorites, with the second-sitting Blues likely to improve as they adapt to their new coach?

Accompanied by host Rebecca Lowe, our analysts break down Arsenal’s troubles and the new complexion of the title race.
