Spurs at one time had the best defense in the Premier League.
However, since Manchester City carved them up like a roast beast for six less than a month ago, they’ve conceded 10 goals in their last four matches.
That doesn’t bode well for when the scorching-hot Luis Suarez comes to town, as Tottenham host fifth-place Liverpool at White Hart Lane from 11am ET live on NBCSN or online at NBC Sports Live Extra.
Suarez leads the Premier League with 15 goals this season, and he’s done it in just 10 matches. He will captain Liverpool with Steven Gerrard out for up to a month with a bum hamstring.
20-year-old Jon Flanagan makes his fourth start of the season at right-back with Brendan Rodgers changing from a three-defender system to four at the back.
Spurs had been sitting Roberto Soldado recently as he had a major dip in form, but with his midweek hat-trick in the Europa League, he earned himself a spot in the Premier League lineup once again.
Soldado will be supported by Moussa Dembele and Nacer Chadli in the midfield, with Erik Lamela, Louis Holtby, Gylfi Sigurdsson, and Andros Townsend all on the bench.
Tottenham Hotspur – Lloris; Walker, Capoue, Dawson, Naughton; Paulinho, Sandro; Lennon, Dembele, Chadli; Soldado.
Bench – Friedel, Fryers, Holtby, Lamela, Townsend, Sigurdsson, Defoe.
Liverpool – Mignolet; Flanagan, Sakho, Skrtel, Johnson; Allen, Lucas, Henderson, Sterling, Coutinho; Suarez.
