The bad times continues to roll through Newcastle United, and this time it’s thanks to troubles at the U-21 level, as reserve team manager Willie Donachie has resigned after allegations that he hit one of his players.
The Magpies derby loss to Sunderland last week was just the first of the week, as the U-21 team fell to the Black Cats 2-0 on Monday. Allegedly, Donachie had an altercation with 19-year-old defender Remie Streete after the young player conceded a penalty in the loss.
What followed the penalty was bleak, according to The Mirror:
Streete had given away a penalty during the game, and there was a toe-to-toe row with Donachie, who is said to have lashed out and connected with the player.
Shocked squad members piled in to separate the pair, and Streete stormed out of the dressing room.
Donachie was suspended soon after and let go today.
