There are so few things to truly count on in life. Or in soccer, it seems.
Rivalries will prevail, as we know. Rangers and Celtic supporters will share a certain disdain. Same for Real-Barca, Boca-River Plate, Portland-Seattle and such.
We know Pele will be scoring king (for a while longer, at least, right Leo?). We know FIFA will operate by the “guideline” more than the “rule.”
Venue-wise we count on Manchester United lining up at Old Trafford. Real will perform at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, AC Milan will … wait … what? AC Milan will not perform the calcio at the fabled San Siro? Say it ain’t so!
AC Milan and Inter Milan have shared the ground since 1947. In the interim, the San Siro has hosted two European Cup finals, an opening match, a quarterfinal and other matches of the 1990 World Cup, a Champions League final and more big matches beyond those than anyone could possibly remember. The stadium will host the 2016 Champions League Final.
