The Los Angeles Times’ Kevin Baxter caught up with Jurgen Klinsmann as he ticks off the days until the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which is now just seven weeks away.
And as he works “24/7,” Klinsmann says the US is very much ready, in energy and preparation, for the start of the tournament. That isn’t to say he doesn’t appreciate the time to go over (and over and over) his options.
“The clock ticks,” Klinsmann said. “We’re getting closer so you zoom in. You monitor all the guys that you have out there. You talk to the coaches, you talk to the people who go to the games.
“I think we are very well prepared now. Still have to work on a couple of ends.”
Baxter’s piece is very much worth reading, not necessarily to get insight on the tournament but to get more of an idea of just who is leading the States.
