WATCH: DeAndre Yedlin’s interview with Spurs TV

Following his $4 million move from Seattle Sounders to Tottenham Hotspur, set to commence after finishing the 2014 season in Major League Soccer, DeAndre Yedlin sat down with Spurs TV to describe his feelings.

Yedlin noted his excitement to join the Premier League and play against the best players in the world, as well as his love for the style of Mauricio Pochettino, how it suits his game and his excitement to train at Tottenham’s world class facilities.

Meanwhile, Seattle general manager Adrian Hanauer spoke with about a few specifics regarding the transaction:

“This transaction provides, first, a great opportunity for us to win a championship in 2014 with DeAndre remaining with the team,” Hanauer said. “Second, it provides us with allocation money that is paramount to maintaining a competitive squad going forward.”

“We’re in a sport where this happens,” added Hanauer. “Every club in the world sells players. It’s just a question of weighing the benefits and the drawbacks and we ultimately decided that this was a good decision for us.”

Hanauer also left open the possibility that Yedlin could stay in Seattle longer than this season, potentially through June 2015, and said that the deal is sealed despite any potential work permit issues that may arise.
