Loic Remy’s transfer window has been a roller coaster ride, but the Queens Park Rangers striker has joined Chelsea.
Now, the club has confirmed the transfer.
That medical wasn’t a given, considering Remy reportedly failed a medical earlier this month in a prospective move to Liverpool.
However, he was deemed fit to play at Stamford Bridge, and will now back up Diego Costa.
The signing is an important one at Chelsea, who offloaded Fernando Torres to AC Milan, Demba Ba to Beskitas, and Romelu Lukaku to Everton. Depth is important at Stamford Bridge, with Costa’s hamstring already giving fans a scare and could prove difficult as the season rolls along among four different competitions.
The 27-year-old striker was prolific last season on loan at Newcastle, with 14 goals in just 26 appearances to push his stock ever higher.
Arsenal were thought to be interested after Olivier Giroud went down long-term but that appears to have been a passing thought.
