Previously-unbeaten Saint Etienne was going to have enough trouble toppling French powers Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, and then goalkeeper Stephane Ruffier made it that much harder with a horrific own goal.
Mishandling a back pass past his own goal line was just the start of the day’s troubles for Ruffier, twice-capped by France since 2010. The keeper had to deal with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose idea of ‘daring to Zlatan’ on Sunday was netting thrice.
Oddly enough, Ibrahimovic missed a stylish overhead kick that would’ve given him four goals on the night, but the ones he did finish certainly stand on their own: a powerful header met a classic dribble around Ruffier and a 1v1 goal in the blowout.

Edinson Cavani scored a beautiful goal from beyond the 18 in PSG’s 5-0 win, as the French club is issuing plenty of warnings to the UEFA Champions League after a slow start.
