Shocking scenes came out of the African Cup of Nations qualifier between the Ivory Coast and Cameroon on Wednesday.
Ivory Coast right back Serge Aurier, who recently signed for Paris Saint-Germain, was caught in the head by Stephane Mbia in the second half as a corner was swung in from the right.

Aurier, 21, stayed on the floor as play continued but you can see from the reaction of both sets of players in the video below that they feared for his safety as they frantically waved medical staff onto the pitch.
The young Ivorian looked to be convulsing while he laid flat on the ground, received medical treatment and was then stretchered off the pitch.
Good news arrived following the incident, as the Ivory Coast posted the following message on their Facebook page which states Aurier was back on the bench by the end of the game and was suffering from shock due to the force of the blow from Mbia.
Their team doctor has since stated that Aurier was not convulsing but yet another scary incident calls into question the danger players continue to put themselves in with regards to head injuries in the game.
