LIVE – Champions League half time update: Real Madrid flying, Arsenal losing

At half time on the opening day of the 2014-15 Champions League group stages, things are pretty tight.

Two Premier League teams are in action as Arsenal trail Borussia Dortmund, while Liverpool are scoreless vs. Ludogorets on their return to the Champions League.

Group A 

Juventus 0-0 Malmo

No goals to report in Turin as Swedish side Malmo hold their own against the Italian champions.

Olympiakos 2-1 Atletico Madrid 

The Greeks raced into a 2-0 lead at home, as Masuaku and Afellay were both on the scoresheet. Mario Mandzukic handed Atletico a lifeline just before half time as last seasons runners up were slow starters.

Group B

Liverpool 0-0 Ludogorets

Adam Lallana came close twice for the Reds but Ludogorets held firm to frustrate Brendan Rodgers’ men at the break.

Real Madrid 4-1 Basel

Suchy scored an own goal to give Real the lead in the first half and they never looked back. Goals from Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez tore Basel apart in a six-minute spell. Basel pulled one back before half time through Gonzalez.

Group C

Benfica 0-2 Zenit St Petersburg

Hulk clipped home a cool finish to open the scoring, then Alex Witsel doubled the Russian sides lead after 22 minutes. Zenit are cruising.

Monaco 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Leverkusen have had all the play but Monaco are holding on down in the principality.

Group D

Borussia Dortmund 1-0 ArsenalFollow live

BVB have outshot the Gunners 15-1 in the first half and Ciro Immobile scored just before the break to give the Germans a lead. The Italian ran 60-yards and smashed the ball into the bottom corner.

Galatasaray 0-0 Anderlecht

The Belgians are holding their own as American midfielder Sacha Kljestan is on the bench in Istanbul.
