The Gunners have not lost at Aston Villa for 16 years and their positive vibes at Villa Park continued after a stunning three-minute spell on Saturday as they scored three quickfire goals in the first half.
First a magnificent one-touch move saw Danny Welbeck play in Mesut Ozil and the German attacker slotted past Brad Guzan with ease. 79 seconds later the roles were reversed as Ozil was set free down the left and curled in a perfect cross for Welbeck to slot home his first Arsenal goal and make it 2-0. Three minutes and 19 seconds after the first goal, it was 3-0 as Kieran Gibbs drilled a shot towards Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the back post which Aly Cissokho knocked into his own net to put the Gunners 3-0 up.
Villa were stunned, while Arsene Wenger had a huge grin on his face as Arsenal led 3-0 at the break and it could have been more as both Ozil and Aaron Ramsey shot wide. Absolutely stunning stuff from the North London club.
