Here’s an odd one for you: Both The Sunday People and The Daily Mirror are reporting that Liverpool has assigned Mario Balotelli a round-the-clock monitor to make sure he behaves himself.
The reports come with photos, though certainly the man could simply be a bodyguard who happens to be in charge of pumping Mario’s gas. The report calls the man a “minder”. If rue, we bet Mario minds (at least a little bit).
According to The Mirror: “Mario has somebody alongside him at all times to ensure there are no unwanted incidents. The man with him has had a long-standing relationship and performed a wide range of duties with Liverpool and is said to be well-respected within the club.”
Meanwhile, the form of forwards Mattia Destro, Pablo Osvaldo and Graziano Pelle has helped to keep Balotelli off the Italy roster for its upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Malta.
Ciro Immobile, Simone Zaza and Sebastian Giovinco make it six total strikers not named Mario on the Italy roster for the qualifiers. In the midfield, Daniele De Rossi and Andrea Pirlo are unavailable for the matches.
