The Ivorian striker was played through and made no mistake by calmly slotting the ball past Tim Krul to put the Swans 1-0 up after 17 minutes.

Following that goal Newcastle failed to get going again in the first half and Ki should have really doubled Swansea’s lead but the Korean midfielder headed wide at the back post when the Swans had three men spare to tap home.

Swansea were made to rue that missed chance as just before the break Cisse popped up to equalize for Newcastle with a tidy finish at the near post. 1-1 and Newcastle were back in business.

Just after the break Swansea went back in front as Routledge scored against his former club following a through ball from Sigurdsson. The Icelandic international muscled Sissoko off the ball and played in Routledge to dink home and put Swansea 2-1 up. Newcastle were all over the place as Sigurdsson and Bony again combined but the latter struck his shot over the bar with the Swans rampant in attack.

Late on Riviere went close for Newcastle, while both Shelvey and Emnes could have grabbed all three points for the Swans but a draw played out at the Liberty Stadium.
