Bale, Ramos out against Liverpool; Welshman could also miss El Clasico

The rumors have been reported as fact: Gareth Bale will join Sergio Ramos as unavailable for Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League match between Real Madrid and Liverpool.

Carlo Ancelotti will be a bit shorthanded, but if there’s any absence he can afford, it’s attacking. Missing Ramos will be a bigger concern at Anfield.

Sky Sports is one of several outlets with the report:

Bale is also a major doubt for Saturday’s first El Clasico of the season against Barcelona due to an abdominal muscle injury.

Ramos has missed the last three games for club and country due to a calf problem, but his absence is more precautionary ahead of the weekend’s clash at the Bernabeu.

French internationals Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane, who missed Saturday’s 5-0 thrashing of Levante due to a fever, have been included in the squad that arrived in England on Tuesday morning.

What do you think? Is it enough to tip the scales for Liverpool, or will one of Real’s bevy of offensive stars step in to help stop the Reds’ European hopes?
