Forgot about Paderborn? Don’t.
The newly promoted Bundesliga club made headlines with a raucous start to the season in Germany, running off a four-match unbeaten streak to start the season and scoring a record-setting long-range goal.
Many realized the club’s chances of coming back to Earth when they lost to Bayern Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach – the league’s top two teams – in consecutive weeks, but those remain their only losses through eight matches.
And they’re back in the highlight reel as well.
After falling down 1-0 to Eintracht Frankfurt, the club rallied for three straight goals and a 3-1 win, the first of which was a stunner.
A tight angle, a long distance, a bouncing ball, and a goal. Take a bow, Marvin Ducksch.
Paderborn have games against Hoffenheim, Hertha Berlin, and FC Augsburg coming up, and it’s not unfathomable to see them win a few of those and see them climb even higher than their current seventh position in the Bundesliga table.
