Could another American be making his way into the Premier League?
Reports suggest Apollo Global Management LLC co-founder Josh Harris is close to purchasing Crystal Palace. Harris already owns the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA and the New Jersey Devils of the NHL.

Sal Galatioto, who helped with the sale of the 76ers, believes that the London club is a good investment for Harris.
Josh obviously knows how to run pro sports franchises. It’s a very interesting investment that should be a very good one for him over the long run. English Premier League soccer is arguably the best soccer in the world and it’s very valuable media content. It’s growing in other parts of the world, especially North America.”

Should Harris’ deal with Palace go through, he would join John Henry (Liverpool), the Glazer family (Manchester United), Randy Lerner (Aston Villa), Ellis Short (Sunderland) and Stan Kroenke (Arsenal) as American billionaires with Premier League teams.
Harris was linked with a possible purchase of Aston Villa, but it looks like he now has set his sights on the London-based Palace.

Crystal Palace currently sit in 16th on the Premier League table, just one point clear of the relegation zone. After manager Tony Pulis quit just days before the start of the season, the Glaziers have struggled under replacement Neil Warnock, earning just eight points in as many matches.
As the English Premier League continues to gain supporters in the United States, having more Americans invest in clubs could lead to even further growth for the sport in our country.
