We have a real cracker brewing in the 169th edition of El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid and Barcelona are locked at 1-1, as Neymar opened the scoring inside four minutes to silence the home crowd. A fluid move saw Luis Suarez play a superb cross field ball to his strike partner who jinxed inside and curled home a beauty. 1-0 to Barcelona.
Karim Benzema twice went close for Real as they surged forward in search of an equalizer. Benzema hit the bar and post in quick succession
Then in the 33rd minute Real were back in the game as Marcelo got to the touchline, pulled the ball pack and Gerard Pique inexlicably blocked the ball with his hand to concede a penalty. Ronaldo stepped up and slotted the PK home for his 21st goal of the season. That was also the first goal Barca had conceded all season and it should have been 2-1 right on half time when Marcelo’s cross found James Rodriguez but he sent his header wide.
