West Ham United beat Manchester City 2-1 at Upton Park on Saturday, as the Hammers rolled to a third-straight win in the Premier League.

Morgan Amalfitano opened the scoring for the Hammers, then Diafro Sakho scored his seventh goal in his last seven games to make it 2-0 as Man City struggled to get going. That second goal sparked them into life as David Silva scored a wonder goal to make it 2-1, then fantastic saves from Adrian preserved all three points for the Hammers.
Sam Allardyce’s side are now in fourth place on 16 points, just one point behind City in second place.

City bossed possession early on at Upton Park, with the visitors having 82 percent of the possession. However they failed to carve out any clear chances, but Sergio Aguero looked lively in behind. A scary moment arrived for Joe Hart as the England international was involved in a nasty collision an received lengthy treatment on the pitch after appearing to take a blow to the head.
The Hammers took the lead after 21 minutes as Enner Valencia was set free with a wonderful ball from Alex Song and pulled back a perfect pass which fellow new arrival Amalfitano tucked home. 1-0 to West Ham. It could have got worse for City before the break as a looping cross dropped to Stewart Downing but he headed over the bar from 12-yards out, then Mark Noble crossed towards James Collins but the ball flashed past the West Ham defender.
After the interval City continued to falter as Song and Sakho had some good chances to double the lead, but then Aguero was close to equalizing for City. The tiny Argentine striker was set free and his effort looked to be sneaking in but Adrian made a fine stop in goal to preserve West Ham’s lead. Aguero hit the cross bar with 25 minutes to go, then Adrian pulled off another fine stop from Yaya Toure with the follow up as City pushed hard for the equalizer. Toure hit the crossbar again late on with a curling effort, but West Ham went 2-0 up in the 75th minute as Sakho headed home his seventh goal in his last seven games.

Just went you thought it was all over for City, Silva produced a piece of magic to spank one home in the 77th minute to make it 2-1. City threw the kitchen sink at West Ham late on, with Adrian making a superb save from Stevan Jovetic, but the Hammers held on.
