Ok. So maybe no one expected the Saints or Hammers to find themselves at the front of the pack come match ten of the season, but both clubs have shocked the Premier League with hot starts.
Your very own Robbie Mustoe and Robbie Earle break down how the two club’s have managed to claim a place at the top of the table, to the surprise of so many.
First, The 2 Robbies take a look at West Ham’s start to their campaign, capped off by a massive 2-1 over Manchester City this weekend. The Robbies believe strong summer signings such as Diafra Sakho and Alex Song have helped Sam Allardyce’s side climb into the top-four, two points ahead of Arsenal.
At St. Mary’s, Southampton have silenced all the critics of their offseason fire sale. Ronald Koeman has taken over the reigns and led Saints to an incredibly hot start, scoring 20 goals in their first nine matches as the club sits in second place on the table. While Robbie Mustoe isn’t sure if they can maintain their form, Robbie Earle thinks Southampton could challenge for a spot in the Champions League.
