So it’s official: Major League Soccer is going to have a second team in Los Angeles, and that team will have the money behind it to more than rival the Galaxy (both the team and the actual Milky Way).
How has the soccer world (via Twitter) responded to the news?
With a mixture of interest and humor.
Magic Johnson was one of the first athletes I admired as a child. So cool to see him part of the ownership group of the new MLS team in LA.

Need to clear this up: #LAFC not Chivas 2. Chivas is dead. No mention of it at presser. The two are not even two ships passing in the night

And we thought NYCFC had money. The 7 consecutive LAFC-NYCFC Cup finals will be fun.

There’s a lot of experience in this LAFC team, if they can get the ball to Hamm quickly then I think they’ll score goals.

Vincent Tan confirmed among owners/investors in newly-formed MLS franchise @LAFC. I guess they’ll end up wearing red, then.
