Chris Tierney’s free kick puts New England Revolution up 2-0 over Columbus Crew (Video)

Chris Tierney is a masterful technician of the free kick.

There’s a reason the 28-year-old midfielder takes all the direct free kicks for a New England Revolution team that also employs the likes of Jermaine Jones, Kelyn Rowe, Diego Fagundez and MLS MVP candidate Lee Nguyen.

That reason can be found in the below video, as Tierney’s inch-perfect free kick gives the Revolution a 2-0 lead — both of the Revs’ goals being invaluable away goals — over the Columbus Crew in their Eastern Conference semifinals first leg matchup.

Go on, Chris, we’re big fans of that.
