Sergio Aguero: Chelsea will drop points

After ten games in the Premier League season, Chelsea remain unbeaten with a four-point lead at the top of the table.

Although the season is still very young, there are talks about Chelsea going the distance without losing a match, rivaling the 2003-04 Arsenal “Invincibles,” the only team in Premier League history to finish a campaign without a single loss.

According the Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, that’s not going to happen.

Following a massive win in the Manchester derby in which Aguero scored the game’s only goal, the Argentinian told City TV that it is only a matter of time before Chelsea start to drop points.

It is important to win. Chelsea are doing very well and they keep winning but we have to go on and I’m sure they will drop some points.

They play at Liverpool next weekend and we will see if they drop points but the important thing is that we have to win games.”

While the Chelsea team has dismissed any “Invincibles” comparisons, the form they are in doesn’t make it seem like an impossible task. Looking at the form Liverpool have been in, and maybe Aguero spoke too quickly about Chelsea dropping points.

But if there is any man who has earned the right to talk, it is Aguero, the Premier League’s leading goal scorer. The Argentinian has ten goals this season, one more than Chelsea’s Diego Costa.

After tallying the winner in the Manchester derby, Aguero’s confidence will be soaring heading into City’s midweek Champions League clash against Moscow and moving forward in the Premier League.

As City sit in third place and six points behind Chelsea, Aguero will have to continue his superb goalscoring form if they wish to challenge Jose Mourinho’s men (if the Blues ever lose).
