Burnley has broken its duck in the Premier League, as Ashley Barnes’ 50th minute goal lifted the Clarets to a 1-0 win against Hull City on Saturday.

Hull has just 11 points, two above the relegation zone, while Burnley’s win still has the club in last place. The Clarets have seven points and a minus-13 goal differential.

Ings nearly struck before the game was a minute old, using the side of his foot to pop the ball past Harper. But the ball bounced wide of the goal.

Harper was forced to make a point blank save of a bullet header. Though 14 shots were taken in the half, nine for Hull and five for Burnley, that save was the only shot put on frame by either squad.
