After starting the season with hopes of a spot in European competition next year, Tottenham have been one of the most disappointing teams in the Premier League.

Spurs currently sit 12th on the table, with only fourteen points through eleven matches. Manager Mauricio Pochettino came to White Hart Lane over the summer to be the man to get Spurs into the top-four, only to see his team struggle massively over the first quarter of the season.

While Pochettino continues to try and implement his style of play with his new team, The 2 Robbies believe it may not be Pochettino’s system that is hurting Spurs.

Robbie Mustoe calls out Tottenham’s highest paid players, including Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado and Paulinho, for underperforming. In Spurs 2-1 loss to Stoke City, Adebayor and Soldado were put on the bench as the youngster Harry Kane got the start, while minutes for Paulinho have been few and far between.

The 2 Robbies not only call out Spurs for their play on the pitch, but also their mentality off the field. After having ten managers over the past 13 seasons, the mentality that all the pressure is on the coach has allowed the players to underperform with little consequence.

Mauricio Pochettino and his men must regroup over the international break and look to turn around their form before Christmas. With all the money spent by the club to bring in these players, a finish outside the top half of the table would be a massive disappointment.
