WATCH: An emotional Zlatan Ibrahimovic accepts eighth-straight Guldbollen award

We’ve learned at least three things from Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s speech following his capture of a ninth overall Swedish player of the year award:

1) No one brags better with a straight face.

2) Guldbollen means ‘golden ball’ in Swedish

3) The man has feelings besides rage, celebration and rage-a-brations.

After collecting the award, his eighth-straight, Ibrahimovic opened with a ego-stroking, “What do you say after nine trophies?” before getting choked up regarding the deaths of two relatively-young Swedish players, Klas Ingesson (46) and Pontus Segerstrom (33), and his own brother Sakpo (40) from cancer.

To remember them is a brilliant moment for Zlatan, and it’s a somber one as well (You can see the folks at his table tearing up as well). But if you’re looking for something extra uplifting, feel free to comb back through our Zlatan archives to read about his having a postage stamp or not approving of an opponent touching him.
