Finally, some good news for Liverpool fans.
19-year-old winger Raheem Sterling has revealed that he’s eager to commit his long-term future to the Anfield club.

Sterling burst onto the scene last season and became an integral part of Liverpool’s miraculous run towards the title as they came up just short of winning their first-ever Premier League crown. The lightning quick winger, who has also been used in the No. 10 role, scored 10 goals in 37 games last season and is the Reds’ top scorer with three goals so far this campaign.
With speculation rife in recent months that Sterling is being courted by the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and other European giants, the youngster has moved to cool talks about a departure from Liverpool.
“I am happy to be here for as long as possible,” Sterling said. “Hopefully I can achieve the goals I want to achieve here at Liverpool in years to come. I am just happy to play football at this club for many years to come. The club has spoken to my representatives and hopefully something can be done soon.”
After losing Luis Suarez over the summer and having Daniel Sturridge out with injury for most of this season, those words form Sterling will be music to the ears of Liverpool’s fans.
Sterling has been in contract negotiations with Liverpool for quite some time and it seems as though both parties are coming close to agreeing a new bumper deal for the England international who was the Three Lions’ most impressive player at the World Cup this summer.
Still only 19, Sterling has his whole career ahead of him. After his latest comments, it seems like a vast chunk of his playing days could be spent at Liverpool.
