Manchester United continued their dominance of Hull City and their rise up the Premier League standings with a comprehensive 3-0 win at Old Trafford on Saturday.
It wasn’t all good news for the Red Devils, who got goals from Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Chris Smalling: United attacker Angel Di Maria left the game against after just 13 minutes and change with an apparent tweak to his right hamstring.
Ander Herrera, himself fresh off an absence, was thrown into the fire by Louis van Gaal.

United scored just over a minute later when Chris Smalling pushed a ball over the line. The goal detection system was called up as Allan McGregor collected the ball just over the goal line.
And Smalling nearly had a second in the 33rd minute when Juan Mata found him racing toward the six off a partially-cleared set piece.
Rooney did double United’s advantage of a well-worked goal. Herrera won a header to van Persie on the edge of the box, who laid it off for the captain’s low-hit bounding shot.

Van Persie put the exclamation point on Hull’s sentence with a strong left-footed poke from distance that sailed into the upper 90. His fourth of the season paved the way for Falcao to enter the fray.
