Geiger’s reputation has been increasing worldwide, with several big World Cup gigs. He most recently made headlines for his decision to award a penalty to Dallas in the MLS playoffs.

Oddly enough, that call inspired Sports Illustrated scribe Grant Wahl to Tweet that it was one of the reasons he’s never been at the helm for an MLS Cup final.

It will be just his second playoff match of 2014.
