Newcastle United 2-1 ChelseaRECAP

Chelsea lost for the first time this season, as Jose Mourinho’s side will not enjoy an unbeaten season. Two second half goals from Papiss Cisse did the damage and despite Didier Drogba pulling a goal back late on and Steven Taylor getting a red card, Newcastle held on for their third-straight home win over Chelsea.

Stoke City 3-2 ArsenalRECAP

Peter Crouch took less than 30 seconds to put the Potters on the board, and Stoke could have four after 45 minutes. They settled for three as Bojan Krkic redirected a brilliant cross into the goal and Jonathan Walters netted before halftime. Arsenal came surging back with goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey to make it 3-2 with 20 minutes to go, but Stoke held on as Arsenal’s pain at the Britannia Stadium continued.

Manchester City 1-0 EvertonRECAP

The Citizens are now just three points behind leaders Chelsea are securing a hard-fought win over Everton… but it came at a cost. The Premier League’s leading scorer, Sergio Aguero, limped off just minutes into the game and the Argentine ace was in tears after suffering a knee injury at a pivotal point of City’s season domestically and in Europe. City recovered as Yaya Toure’s penalty kick was the difference as Everton pushed had for an equalizer in the second half but couldn’t find one. Four wins on the spin for City.

Liverpool 0-0 SunderlandRECAP

Liverpool were held at home by Sunderland, as the home side piled on plenty of pressure late in the game but could not break through. Jozy Altidore made a rare start for Sunderland, who were pleased with the point at Liverpool. Steven Gerrard jumped off the bench once again for the Reds but couldn’t provide any late-game heroics.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-0 Crystal PalaceRECAP

Exciting and laden with chances, Mile Jedinak and Yannick Bolasie caused Spurs’ defense plenty of problems. Roberto Soldado missed Tottenham’s best chances as the London derby ended in stalemate with Palace definitely more pleased with a point.

Queens Park Rangers 2-0 BurnleyRECAP

Second half goals from Leroy Fer and Charlie Austin moved QPR out of the relegation zone against fellow new boys Burnley. Austin was set off late on, but QPR hung on and have now won all 14 of their points at Loftus Road this season. Remarkable.

Hull City 0-0 West Bromwich AlbionRECAP

Both teams are really struggling for form as Hull is now without a win in eight and West Brom haven’t won in five. Graham Dorrans saw an early penalty kick saved by Alan McGregor and that was as close as either side came to scoring. Hull are in the bottom three, while West Brom are just one point and two places better off.
