VIDEO: Louis van Gaal respects Southampton, says Manchester United “have to dominate more”

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has hailed his side’s upcoming Premier League opponent, while also calling for his players to become more ruthless and “dominate more.”

“I think that they have a very good squad [with] a lot of players I know,” the Dutch boss said in his Friday press conference ahead of United’s trip to Southampton on Monday (Watch live on NBCSN and online via Live Extra, 2 pm ET). “I believe in [their] management, Ronald Koeman and his brother. I think when the cohesion is good, he can manage.”

“I think we have to dominate more,” van Gaal would go on to say. “Against Hull City, we [dominated]. That’s why I was so pleased. We could have scored more goals also, but 3-0 is a very good result against a defensive team, but I’d like to always play like that.”
