The visitors had everything to play for, but it mattered not against an inspired and deep Chelsea side at Stamford Bridge.

Lisbon needed at least a point to advance with fellow competitor Schalke playing group minnows Maribor, but Chelsea was hot right out the gate.

Jonathan Silva scored in the 50th minute to make things look close for Lisbon, but John Mikel Obi added about as close a corner kick tap-in as humanly possible to restore the two-goal lead, and Chelsea cruised to the win.
The easy win allowed Jose Mourinho to hand a debut to 18-year-old Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who got to play alongside Cesc Fabregas in his substitute appearance. Not a bad way to start!
Schalke beat Maribor 1-0, which means Chelsea and Schalke are through to the knockout rounds, with Lisbon heading to the UEFA Europa League.
