Angel di Maria ruled out of clash vs. Liverpool

Manchester United will be without one of their top players as Angel di Maria has been ruled out of their match against Liverpool on Sunday.

You can watch the match live at 8:30 a.m. ET on NBCSN or online via Live Extra.

The Argentinian winger was taken off in United’s 3-0 win over Hull on November 29th with a hamstring injury, and is still not fully recovered.

Di Maria will join Chris Smalling on the sidelines as the defender continues to recover from a groin injury.

When asked about di Maria’s injury, manager Louis van Gaal answered slyly, saying “I am not a doctor so I cannot answer but I know he is not ready for Liverpool.”

Despite the injury to di Maria, van Gaal believes his team is finally nearing full fitness, as only di Maria, Smalling, Daley Blind and Luke Shaw will be unavailable on Sunday.

That means Rafael, Phil Jones and Radamel Falcao could all be available for minutes at Old Trafford.
